The Scottish band Big Country was a favorite of mine back in the 1980s. They were pretty much a one-hit wonder, with their titular song being the one hit in question. However, my favorite song of theirs on The Crossing, the album that had “In a Big Country” on it, is actually this haunting song, “The Storm.” In light of Harvey, Irma, and José, and with the people of the south and southeast facing significant problems, this song is eerily appropriate.
