Monday music: “Beautiful Madness”

Robbie Robertson’s latest album, Sinematic, is most excellent, as have all his solo albums been. “Evocative” has always been the best word to describe Robertson’s work, both with The Band and on his own, and this one with haunting backup vocals by J.S. Ondara is a perfect example. Inspired by his time in the late 1970s living with Martin Scorsese as a couple of young bachelors doing cocaine in an unfurnished apartment in New York, here’s “Beautiful Madness.”
